Frequently Asked Questions

What is Caboodle Cartridge?
Caboodle Cartridge offers extremely high quality remanufactured and compatible inkjet and toner cartridges. We offer cartridges that meet the quality and workmanship of the more expensive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) versions. Our approach is different from our competitors. We carry a large selection of cartridges in the store, so you get immediate service without waiting for a clerk to refill your cartridge. We insist on quality, using only the finest inks available, and thoroughly test each cartridge. Now you can buy a cartridge that is as good as the original, save money, and help the environment. We back it up with a full 100% money-back guarantee.

How does Caboodle Cartridge remanufacture empty ink and toner cartridges?
We remanufacture or produce our cartridges in specialized production facilities. We inspect and test all empty cartridges, including electronically testing every inkjet cartridge print head. If a single nozzle fails, the cartridge is rejected and recycled. We replace or reset the electronic chips as needed. Once the cartridges have been refilled, skilled technicians perform physical inspection and testing. If it doesn’t pass, it does not go into our stores.

We use automated vacuum filling technology to fill all inkjet cartridges with extreme precision, making certain that the cartridge is filled to maximum capacity. We never use syringes, because this process can often introduce air bubbles into the cartridge. Air bubbles in the ink can cause leaks and poor quality. Caboodle Cartridge uses only the highest quality inks. Over 200 different inks are used to be sure that the best and most correct ink is used for your particular cartridge. This process gives you the best possible print quality.

For laser cartridges, we inspect each cartridge and replace or refurbish parts as necessary. Using over 50 types of the highest-grade toner specifically matched to your laser printer or copier, we refill, reassemble and test each cartridge by hand.

Will using Caboodle Cartridges void my printer warranty?
Your warranty cannot be voided using our cartridges. By law, printer manufacturers cannot require the use of only their brand of replacement supplies as a warranty condition. This is a direct violation of the Sherman and Clayton Antitrust Acts. These acts state it is illegal for manufacturers to require customers to use the original manufacturer’s supplies. Because of this law, using a remanufactured cartridge does not void a warranty.

Will using a Caboodle Cartridge produce the same quality?
Using Caboodle cartridges gives you the same quality as the printer’s brands of cartridges. Caboodle Cartridge is careful about choosing inks and toners that will give you the same results as the leading brands. We’re so confident you’ll agree that the quality and reliability is the same as the more expensive leading brands that we back it up with a 100% money-back guarantee.

What is the Caboodle Cartridge guarantee?
It is Caboodle Cartridges’ policy to offer a 100% money-back satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the product, and the cartridge is more than half full, we will gladly refund your money (some restrictions apply).

Why should I use Caboodle cartridges?
Using Caboodle cartridges gives you the same quality as the printer’s brands. We know you’re concerned about your inkjet photographs printing correctly and lasting a long time. We know what it’s like to have a cartridge fail when you have five minutes to print an important presentation. That’s why Caboodle is careful about choosing inks and toners that will give you the same results as the leading brands.

Using Caboodle Cartridges saves money. Did you know that when you buy leadingbrand cartridges, you are paying the equivalent to $100 an ounce? By using Caboodle cartridges, you pay half as much, and get twice as much ink in the cartridge!

Using Caboodle helps save the environment. Americans throw away 360 million empty ink and toner cartridges every year. Once discarded, cartridges can take up to 1,000 years to decompose. As decomposition happens, toxins seep into the groundwater and soil, contaminating it further. Not only that, it takes approximately three and a half quarts of oil to manufacture a single laser cartridge! These cartridges can be refilled and reused a number of times. Using Caboodle cartridges helps the environment by keeping toxic substances out of the landfills and conserve natural resources.

Will Caboodle Cartridges break my printer?
Any cartridge, original or remanufactured, could cause damage to your printer. It is extremely rare, however, for a cartridge to break a printer. Take extreme care in installing your cartridges to ensure you do not damage your printer or your cartridges.

Will the print quality of a Caboodle Cartridge be as good as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cartridges?
Yes. The quality of our cartridges is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Caboodle Cartridge does not fill the cartridges with the same ink or toner as OEM cartridges as this would be infringement on the patents of the Original Equipment Manufacturers. Caboodle Cartridge uses almost 200 various kinds of inks. We use the highest quality ink, from one of the top ink producers in the world, and use special formulas for each different cartridge type.

Caboodle Cartridge is fanatical about its production methods. Each cartridge is thoroughly cleaned by technicians, and then subjected to a full operational checklist. With laser toner cartridges, Caboodle replaces parts as needed. For inkjet cartridges, the nozzles, which are a notorious point of failure, are electronically tested and the housing carefully cleaned to assure optimal performance.

Will a Caboodle Cartridge last as long as an OEM cartridge?
In most cases, a Caboodle Cartridge will last longer than an OEM cartridge because we put more ink and toner in our cartridges than OEM brands. Our cartridges are carefully weighed before being shipped to stores, to ensure each cartridge is full. The only true test of a cartridge’s longevity is in a controlled laboratory environment where testers print the exact same document over and over again until the cartridge is empty. Our page yields are tested by the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and are backed by certified test results.

Does the kind of paper I use affect the print quality?
Paper quality has a huge impact on print quality. It really does make a difference if you use HP paper with your Epson printer and visa versa. You will yield the best results if you use the paper that has been formulated for your make of printer. Medium weight and brightness paper will produce a better quality print job than a low weight and low brightness paper.

Do I need to perform regular maintenance to my printer?
Yes. To maximize printer and printer cartridge performance, perform maintenance and cleaning regularly. All printers come with software that automates this process. It usually takes a few sheets of paper and a few minutes but it can make all the difference in your print quality. If you notice a problem with the cartridge, perform the maintenance tasks to see if that solves the problem such as cartridge alignment and print head cleaning.

When do I replace my cartridge?
Most printers are programmed to tell you when to change your ink cartridge or the ink level of your cartridge. These methods are programmed to give you early warning that your cartridge is getting low. Use this warning to purchase your back up cartridges, but keep the current cartridge in your printer until you notice missing parts of letters on your paper.

Ink levels on your printer cartridges are not exact. Your printer does not weigh your cartridges. It is only guessing the level of ink based on how much you have printed. Ink cartridges are programmed to read ink levels once, therefore ink level indicators from a remanufactured cartridge are not going to be accurate. With toner cartridges a gentle shake will redistribute the toner within the cartridge, allowing you to continue printing. You can shake toner cartridges 2-3 times. We do not recommend shaking ink cartridges. Many ink cartridges have a sponge inside the cavity. Shaking the cartridge might cause the sponge to absorb the ink rather than making the ink immediately available for use.

Your eyes are your best indicator for when to change the cartridge. When you see broken lines or parts of letters missing, stop printing and change the cartridge.
